Woman freed from car after A420 crash

From the The Oxford Times, first published Tuesday 12th Sep 2006.

A WOMAN had to be freed from her car after it flipped on the A420 during last night's rush-hour.

Dozens of motorists heading towards Oxford were caught up in long tailbacks as police partially closed the busy dual carriageway after the accident near Kingston Bagpuize just before 5pm.

Police spokesman Victoria Bartlett said the woman - believed to be in her 30s - was driving her green Renault Clio east towards the city and was near the roundabout for the A415.

"The Clio left the carriageway and collided with the central reservation and rolled," Miss Bartlett said. "There was a woman inside and she was trapped.

"However, she was conscious and talking while firefighters worked to free her.

"She was removed from the car about an hour after the crash and was taken by ambulance to hospital. She was in a stable condition with a head injury."
