What an eyesore

From the Oxford Mail, first published Saturday 2nd Sep 2006.

I decided I would visit the Headington Shark in Oxford. I have never seen it in real life, only photographs, so I was looking forward to it.

What an eyesore! What could have possibly been going through Bill Heine's mind to erect such a thing on his roof? I spent 10 minutes trying to work out how he keeps the rain out of upstairs' rooms.

Of course, there are those people with an eye for curves, and a taste for artistic flair, who will say this shark monument is superb.

I think it is nothing more than a shark on a roof. There is no beauty in such a eyesore.

Still, if having such a creature on one's roof is a requirement of getting a job as a talk show host on Radio Oxford, I had better get that pink elephant up on mine soon.
