CRICKET: Oxon Under 13s battle to draw

Oxfordshire Under 13s produced a gritty display to earn a draw against ECB quarter-finalists Hampshire at Yateley on Tuesday.

The Oxon bowlers made life difficult for the home side as they were bowled out for 141.

The best displays came from left-arm spinner Jamie Coles (4-27) and the accurate medium pace of Tom Nugent (3-15).

In reply, Oxon captain Lloyd Sabin made a determined 24, and the side were with a chance of winning a low-scoring match.

But the loss of a couple of wickets meant that Oxon needed some stubborn resistance to hold out for a draw on 98-8.
